HEAD Rebel - Kjetil Jansrud

REBEL OF THE WEEK – KJETIL JANSRUD

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU TO BE A WORLDCUP REBEL?

Being a World Cup Rebel is about pushing my own limits every day and working together with our awesome group of technicians and product developers. We are a family with a common goal of being the world’s fastest. And we are not only accomplishing it, we are pushing the bar even higher every season.

WHEN WAS YOUR FIRST TIME ON SKIS?

I got my first alpine skis when I was 6 years old. I was a cross country skier before that age, and needless to say, I never looked back.

WHAT`S YOUR NUMBER 1 WORLDCUP TRACK?

Kvitfjell! Nothing beats the feeling of skiing on your home field.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT SKI DAY?

I like grabbing an early Austrian breakfast before heading up to the hill. It is a great feeling to have the freshly groomed snow under your skis while you understand that you are the first one to lay the arcs on the hill. I like cruising down without anyone being there before. It is a magical feeling. After a few runs up and down Kitzbuehel. This would be a perfectly mixed day of serenity and insanity.

IS MUSIC IMPORTANT FOR YOU? IF YES, WHICH MUSIC?

Music is important for the klisjè of “turning off”. I don’t use music when competing but often when I’m at my hotel room or traveling. Listening to everything from Opeth to Pearl Jam, and all the way down to Norwegian bands like Big Bang (not the Korean one) and Highasakite. You can also find me listening to “Tropical House” playlists on Spotify. I’m not all-eating when it comes to music, but I have wide tastes.
